Who are Broomwell Healthwatch?

Broomwell Healthwatch was established in 2004 to provide TeleMedical Monitoring services. By the end of 2008, the Broomwell Healthwatch monitoring centre had successfully interpreted over 30,000 ECGs, and it now serves a large number of GP practices, medical centres and hospitals in various parts of the country, allowing all of them to benefit from immediate interpretation of ECGs by expert clinicians.

In 2007 Broomwell Healthwatch, together with NHS Northwest and the Lancashire and Cumbria Cardiac Network, was awarded the HSJ (Health Service Journal) Award for Improving Care with e-technology. In 2008 Broomwell Healthwatch, together with Lancashire and South Cumbria Cardiac Network, was given the award for ‘Innovative Information & Communications Technology’.

Broomwell Healthwatch Medical team

Broomwell Healthwatch has an advisory medical board headed by eminent cardiologists and physicians including Dr David Lipkin (London) - chair, Dr Derek Rowland (Manchester), Dr Bernard Clarke (Manchester), Dr Kevin Jennings (Aberdeen) and Prof Jacob M. Rowe (Rochester USA and Haifa Israel), who set the operational protocols and advise and give guidance on medical matters.
