Bringing ECG expertise in every surgery

An ECG reading from Broomwell HealthWatch TeleMedical Services
From secondary care to primary care

Broomwell HealthWatch compact 12 lead ECG monitorMany GPs do not see sufficient ECGs in their practices to be able to confidently interpret the hundreds of possible variations. As a result, many refer their patients to secondary care for outpatient appointments.

Broomwell Healthwatch offers GP practices, medical centres, and hospitals access to immediate, expert, clinician interpretation of ECGs which enables ECGs to be interpreted immediately, and within the GP practice, thereby saving money to the NHS by reducing the need for outpatient referrals and improving patient care by reducing waiting times for diagnostic tests.

An immediate verbal interpretation is given

Practices which subscribe to the service can send ECGs to the Broomwell Healthwatch Centre by email, fax or telephone and receive an immediate verbal interpretation followed within minutes by a full written clinician interpretation.

Taking a reading with the HeartVieW Professional The ECG machine provided is hand held and easy to use. The ECG is stored in the memory of the device and is transmitted as an acoustic (sound) signal via a telephone to the Broomwell Healthwatch centre where it is captured and displayed on screen. The transmission time is less than one minute. The quality of the ECG trace received by Broomwell Healthwatch is extremely high and the ECG trace, along with a written report, is sent to the customer by email or fax (depending on the preference of the practice).

Practices are also able, if they prefer, to use their existing ECG machine and send ECGs to Broomwell Healthwatch by email or fax for analysis. Again, a full report would be sent back within minutes.

Extensive usage and excellent feedback

The centre has interpreted tens of thousands of ECGs with excellent feedback from GPs, practice nurses and patients. It now serves a large number of GP practices, medical centres and hospitals in various parts of the country, allowing all of them to benefit from immediate interpretation of ECGs by expert clinicians.
