Arrhythmia Monitoring Service
Arrhythmia - 24 Hour Tapes - interpretation service
ARRHYTHMIA MONITORING
Mini-Clinic
The Mini-Clinic is designed to capture and record arrhythmia.
Worn like a wristwatch it can record a 1-Lead ECG (heart rate and rhythm) at the push of a button. Five readings can be stored for later transmission via the Gateway, which connects to any landline telephone (see below).
Gateway Transmitter
Each Gateway, which can be located at the surgery or cardiac unit, can service up to 10 MiniClinics.
The Mini-Clinics may be lent out to patients for as long as required. When the patient has recorded an event, they simply visit the surgery or cardiac unit and transmit to our cardiac monitoring centre for rapid diagnosis and interpretation by our cardiac nurses or doctors. The rhythm strip and analysis are then e-mailed or faxed to the surgery or cardiac unit
MiniGate Transmitter
An alternative method of transmitting the recordings, is via the MiniGate. This compact USB device transmits from any computer that has Internet access directly to our centre.
Loop Monitor
For certain conditions, a Loop Monitor is the preferred mechanism for capturing and recording arrhythmias. These are currently being introduced into the service.
ARRHYTHMIA - 24 HOUR TAPES
Arrhythmia - 24 hour tapes are interpreted and reported to surgeries
The provision of 24 hour tapes, by surgeries, with expert interpretation at Broomwell Healthwatch, avoids rerrals to the secondary sector with the result that patient convenience is greatly enhance and the NHS makes significant financial savings.
