Virtual Wards / Nursing Teams

Bringing ECG expertise to every corner of the UK

Supporting Virtual Wards & Community Nursing Teams

Broomwell Healthwatch’s service is perfectly suited to Virtual Wards, Nursing Teams, and Rapid Response Community Teams delivering care in the community. Our lightweight, palm-sized 12 lead ECG device (weighing just 140 grams) is highly portable, allowing clinicians to carry out ECGs during home visits with ease.

The device transmits ECG traces directly to our cardiac centre using either bedside telephones or a paired smartphone. This enables nurses and attending doctors to receive an immediate verbal overview of the ECG while still with the patient, allowing for real-time clinical decisions.

A 12 lead ECG is often the first and most critical diagnostic tool for patients presenting with cardiac symptoms. For many — especially older patients or those with mobility issues — accessing a GP surgery or hospital is not always feasible. Our service ensures that high-quality cardiac diagnostics can be delivered at the patient’s bedside.

The result is a truly effective virtual ward solution: combining clinical home visits with immediate ECG interpretation to enhance patient care, speed up diagnosis, and avoid unnecessary hospital referrals.
